Catherine is our expert on freshwater issues...

Catherine Simons hails from the backwaters of the lower Wisconsin River. School, work, and a passion for travel have taken her around the world: Eastern and Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, South America, and the Caribbean.

Catherine lives in Washington, DC and serves as a Senior Policy Advisor with the U.S. Committee on the Marine Transportation System (CMTS). Catherine has also worked in international development and environmental policy, including managing environmental research projects for the Office of the Secretary of Defense and running a social enterprise committed to improving child road safety in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
